200 untold stories of the people, moments and communities of faith that have shaped Canada

ABOUT US

Celebrating untold Canadian faith-based stories.

AnOther story is a community generated compendium and timeline of the moments of interreligious cooperation and discord in the modern history of Canada. It will introduce people to a more complex and enriching narrative of our shared histories and explore the people and key moments of challenge and celebration that helped shape our country.

The goal of this resources is to tell our collective stories, to illuminate stories so that we may come to know one another and work together for the common good.

The stories we learn too often leave out the full tapestry of Canadian communities. We hope to broaden religious historical representation and support conversations about the intersections of Canadian identity in classrooms, boardrooms and around the dinner table.

This project is an initiative of the Canadian Interfaith Conversation (CIC) funded by the  the Interfaith Innovation Award of the Interfaith Youth Core.  The CIC gathers representatives of 41 faith communities and faith-based organizations who believe that people of faith can contribute positively to the benefit of all people in Canadian society. In our Charter Vision, the practice of religion and its impact on the identities of Canadians is an enduring feature of this country. We advocate for religion in a pluralistic society and in Canadian public life, believing that conversation is essential to doing so effectively.
